ABOUT ME
My name is Elyssa Chalmers and I am a mom of two wild boys. I grew up playing all kinds of sports but the main sports I played were baseball, ringette and rugby. Over the years I grew out of competative baseball and ringette and focussed on rugby. Through the rugby club I met my husband and met a lot of amazing people.
I became a trainer in 2010 and have been working with various groups of people over the years while finishing my Bachelors Degree at the University of the Fraser Valley. Ironically, I am a history major and I hold both an intermediate and advanced proficiency in the french language.
I intended to become a PE teacher, however, while in school I also had my two boys and a lot of things changed. I grew very passionate about women’s health, as a lot of my research surrounded the history of women and the history of medicine and I found many gaps surrounding women and their support during pregnancy and postpartum. This led me to further my training education to pre and postpartum corrective exercise.
I know very well how hard it is to stay active while pregnant and postpartum. So, with my experience and knowledge I decided to focus my energy into helping other women in various stages of life stay active and continue to meet their health and wellness goals.
